You’ll notice evidence of the slide of 1903, a disaster in which 90 million tons of rock crashed down Turtle Mountain, obliterating part of this coal mining town in less than 100 seconds. The Frank Slide Interpretive Centre has displays about the disaster and community life and settlement during the early coal mining days. Open May 15 to Sept 7, daily 9 am - 8 pm. $4 adult, $3 sen, $2 youth (7 - 17), $10 family, 562-7388. The Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery shows local and Canadian artworks.
